Dr. Tracy Penny Light, a leading scholar in the field of e-portfolios and learning, will discuss how engaging learners with e-portfolios enables them to make visible their knowledge and to explore ways to transfer learning to a variety of contexts (workplace, academic, community). - 10:30-10:50 – Break / Browse Student Showcase

- 11:00-12:15 – Session 1: Capturing and Reflecting the Learning Process through ePortfolios
Presentations by faculty and students, followed by audience group discussions. This session addresses how learning can be processed and represented using e-portfolios and online platforms, focusing on the role of reflective inquiry. - 12:15-1:30 – Lunch (a light lunch will be provided)

Dr. Aurelea Mahood from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Capilano University will discuss her experiences implementing e-portfolios across the Liberal Studies Bachelor of Arts program, expanding also into the English program. The session will focus on both pedagogical and technological aspects of implementing e-portfolios. - 1:30-2:45 – Session 2: Networking ePortfolios: Integrating Technology with Learning and Connecting to the Real World
Presentations by faculty, students and employers, followed by audience group discussions. This session will examine the role of e-portfolios in bridging the gap between academic learning and learning through non-academic experiences. - 2:45-3:15 – Break / Browse Student Showcase
- 3:15-4:30 – Session 3: Learning through Assessment and the Future of ePortfolios
Presentations by faculty and employers, followed by audience group discussions. This session will examine: 1) what institutional learning cultures (academic, universities, colleges) can learn from e-portfolio cultures (professional careers, visual arts, performing arts) about assessment? and, 2) best practices for creating ‘folio cultures’ for the future of education?
